Jivdhan Fort trek is a popular trekking destination located near Junnar, Maharashtra, India. The trek starts from the base village of Jivdhan and takes you to the top of the fort which offers panoramic views of the surrounding area. How to reach Jivdhan Fort trek?
Jivdhan Fort is situated in western ghats of Maharashtra(Junnar near Pune city). One can reach there by public or private transport.
The best way is to get bus form Mumbai/Pune to Alephata and take rickshaw or private jeep to the Jivdhan Trek point.
On the other hand, you can drive down from Pune/Mumbai to the starting point. The distance form Pune is around 125 KM and it will take around 2 to 2.5 hours and the distance form Mumbai is approximately 170-180 KM and it will take around 3.5 to 4 hours to reach base village.

1. Jivdhan Fort :
The history of Jivdhan Fort dates back to the 17th century, and it is believed to have been built by the Maratha leader, Shivaji Maharaj. The fort was strategically located and was used to keep a watch on the surrounding area. The fort also served as a prison for the enemies of the Maratha Empire.

The trek to Jivdhan Fort is an experience in itself. The trek starts from the base village of Jivdhan, and it takes around 2-3 hours to reach the top. The trek takes you through dense forests, rolling hills, and waterfalls, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape. The trek is considered to be of moderate difficulty, and it’s best to go with a guide as the path can be treacherous in certain places.
2. Vanarlingi pinnacle
One of the attraction of Jivdhan trek is Vanarlingi pinnacle. It is about 385 feet high. One can climb this pinnacle with proper equipment’s. It will take around 4-5 hours to climb Vanarlingi pinnacle. Also one can do ziplining form Jivdhan to this Pinnacle under professionals guidance.

3. Naneghat:
Naneghat’s trail pass was one of the trade routes. It connected the Kokan region with the Deccan through Junner. Traders were using this trail to cross the hills. As name suggest ‘Nane’ is “Coin” and ‘Ghat’ is “Pass”. Basically, this place was the tollbooth to collect the toll from the traders.

4. Reverse Waterfall
Nature is full of mysterious places, one of which is publicly or commonly known as the reverse waterfall or Naneghat waterfall at Naneghat, Junnar, Maharahtra. Here waterfall flows in reverse direction. Now the question is, “How does this happen?” Well, it’s a strong wind force that pushes water upward. Best time to visit Naneght waterfall is mansoon.

Jivdhan trek difficulty:
The grade of the Jivdhan fort trek is moderately difficult, and it takes around 3–4 hours to reach the top. If you are a beginner, then this trek is a little difficult for you because it has some rock patches that are almost 80–90 degrees straight, where you need to use ropes to climb that patch.
